Exactly how steamy is this story?

Story of a Girl could pretty much be renamed Story of a Girl Who Has Unfortunate Sex. If MTV made a few changes to the format of Teen Mom, like showing us the teen moms' lives through the eyes of a girl who was lucky enough not to get knocked up, you'd have Deanna's story. She's watching her brother's girlfriend raise their unplanned baby in her parents' basement, while her dad continues to ignore her because he caught her in the backseat of her sort-of boyfriend's car three years ago. So yeah: lots of sex.
In fact, Story of a Girl is a cautionary tale. It shows the two worst possible outcomes of teen sex, short of an incurable STD: Deanna's reputation is ruined, and Stacy gets pregnant. The only girl in the book who's unscathed by sexual consequences is Lee, who's still a virgin, but she's thinking of losing it to Jason. Deanna can't bear to watch Lee indulge in the luxury of considering her choices as her loving boyfriend waits patiently for her to make up her mind. She's so jealous of Lee that she almost ruins their friendship.
The graphic nature of some of the scenes may make younger kids uncomfortable, especially the parts where Tommy coerces Deanna into giving him oral. But if you know a girl who's having unprotected sex with a boy who doesn't respect her, chances are good you'll want to give her a copy of this book with a giant economy-sized box of condoms.
