The Big Lebowski Scene 16 Summary

  • The Dude is driven home from Maude Lebowski's by a guy who looks and sounds like Borscht Belt comedian Gilbert Gottfried.
  • Although things haven't exactly been going The Dude's way, he's pretty zen about it all: he's got a White Russian in hand.
  • They arrive at The Dude's apartment, and Gilbert Gottfried points out that a Volkswagen bug has followed them all the way back from Maude Lebowski's apartment.
  • Then, he strong-arms The Dude and his White Russian into yet another limo on the other side of the street.
  • The Dude is distraught: "Careful, man! There's a beverage here!"
  • In limo #2 are Brandt and the Big Lebowski, neither of them happy with The Dude's performance so far in retrieving Bunny.
  • The Big Lebowski wants to know why the kidnappers never got the money.
  • The Dude tries to explain that Bunny Lebowski probably kidnapped herself.
  • Then, the Big Lebowski shows him a severed toe with green nail polish—which, if you've got a good memory for detail, is what Bunny was applying at the pool.
  • The Big Lebowski tells The Dude that he's at risk of having all of his toes chopped off, too. The Dude is once again stressed out in a very un-Dude manner.
