Parsi Rustomji is one of Gandhi's clients and co-workers. But, whoops, he gets caught smuggling (4.47.3).
Gandhi tells him to confess to the government (4.47.7), which he does…and he gets off with a fine. The episode demonstrates Gandhi's respect for the law—just because he leads disobedience against unjust laws doesn't mean he doesn't respect the law in general.
