- In the end, Peter's death is ruled an accidental death by drowning and Joe and Bev are exonerated.
- The Spooners pack up and are on the road by noon. They drive the whole way home without talking to each other at all. What a fun family vacation.
- When they're finally home, they go inside and start unpacking their suitcases. Margie comes over and wants Evie to tell her everything about what happened—apparently it's made the papers in New York too.
- Evie doesn't want to be friends with Margie anymore, though. She feels changed now and older somehow, so she tells Margie that she doesn't want to talk about it and that she has to finish unpacking.
