Pedro Páramo Section 6 Summary

  • This section starts off normal, with a little description of the beginning of a rainstorm. However, suddenly we get some new voices and characters.
  • It would seem that there's a boy who's taking a little too long in the bathroom, and his mom, who's giving him a hard time about that fact, telling him a snake will come up through the toilet and bite him
  • The boy is taking so long because, he says, he was thinking of someone named Susana. Finally his mom manages to get him out of his daydream and off to shuck corn with his grandmother.
  • Who is this boy though? Is it the same narrator we've had all along, remembering his childhood? Or is it someone else?
