How we cite our quotes: All quotations are from The Princess Bride.
Quote #4
ANCIENT BOOER: Your true love lives! And you marry another. True Love saved her in the fire swamp, and she treated it like garbage.
Oh, yes. Even the "Ancient Booer," as she's credited, gets some love here. In reality (well, within the reality of the movie, anyway), this character is nothing more than Buttercup's conscience ragging on her for planning to marry Humperdinck. Dreams are funny, aren't they? You'd think our own subconscious would go a little easy on us.
Quote #5
BUTTERCUP: You never sent the ships. Don't bother lying. Doesn't matter. Westley will come for me anyway.
It should come as no surprise that our movie's villain gets in on the whole "betrayal" business. Here Buttercup comes to the realization that Humperdinck never came through on his promise to seek out Westley. She hasn't quite figured out yet that Humperdinck never released him in the first place, but give her time. She's getting there.
