How It All Goes Down
- Mr. Pucci's health declines, and Dolores helps him sell his house.
- When the real estate agent tells him to hide anything "gay" (3.228.25) in the house, Dolores tells her to "shove it up [her] ass" (3.28.33). You go, girl.
- That cracks Mr. Pucci up, and he tells Dolores he loves her. She says back to him, "I love you, too" (3.28.39).
- Meanwhile, Thayer and Dolores have been sleeping together; Dolores isn't pregnant yet, and Thayer wants to get married.
- Dolores keeps avoiding it because her parents' marriage was bad, her marriage to Dante was bad…
- He tells her, "This wouldn't be your marriage to him. This would be our marriage" (3.28.80). Aw.
- She tells him it's over, though, and doesn't see him for two weeks.
- Right before Mr. Pucci dies, Dolores visits him in the hospital.
- He tells her that the janitor who hated him for years started buying him a milkshake every Sunday when he found out he was sick.
- He tells Dolores, "Accept what people offer. Drink their milkshakes. Take their love" (3.28.118).
- When he finally passes, Mr. Pucci leaves Dolores his jukebox.
- She calls Thayer. He comes over, and they dance.
- She tells him that years ago, she drew a picture of him on her Etch-a-Sketch. A psychic said he'd be her husband. So she proposes… and he says yes.
