Character Analysis
We have to give a shout-out to Olivia's poor brother, John. He doesn't get any love. No, really, he doesn't. We could totally picture him dating Grace if Sam didn't come along. He laughs at her jokes. He calls her “good-looking” (8.74). But, bummer for him, he's just a normal, non-wolfy guy. He looks “dusty and ordinary in comparison beside Sam's black flop of hair and golden eyes” (32.81). This poor human just can't compete.
On second thought, even if Sam did stay a wolf, Grace still might not have gone out with John. She might have just pined after her wolf until she found herself in Mercy Falls's Retirement Home.
