So here's the thing: Why We Broke Up is definitely about sex, but it's mostly about love and romance. For Min, sex and love are super related, but for Ed, not so much. This difference in opinion, of course, is one of the reasons they're no longer together.
Since the book is written from the perspective of Min, who's more of a dreamer than a doer, the focus is on her feelings rather than her actions. To use a film metaphor (as Min often does), the camera pans away (i.e., the language gets vague) when she and Ed get naked and when Min loses her virginity. But since they do take off their clothes with some frequency, we're going with a solid PG-13 rating for this one.
