- In the now: Nikki goes to the soup kitchen on Saturday. The manager, Christopher, is a nice guy, and tells her to ignore the photographer, who's there to document her doing good for her dad's reelection campaign.
- Nikki serves chili for a while. An older woman tells her that she's beautiful, and that she's not old. Nikki responds that she's seventeen… and then the old woman claims to be eighteen.
- Christopher says hi to the old woman, calling her Mary. Mary repeats that she's eighteen years old. She then asks who the president is, has a mini-breakdown, and tells Nikki that she broke a heart.
- Another volunteer tells Nikki not to worry, that Mary probably has dementia. Mary talked to her a bunch about finding someone's daughter, Penelope or Priscilla. Nikki decides to try to help Mary, since it'll make her feel better about being here for the next six months.
- Back at home, Nikki makes tea, and decide to talk to Tommy—he's younger, so he's been confused about where she went.
- Tommy is practicing casting fishing flies that he's made. He asks Nikki if things can be normal again, and she says yes, and then he offers her one of the fishing flies that he's made.
