- Titus and his friends are now back on Earth with working feeds, which means everything's back to normal. Titus hangs out on the feed,chatting with friends and watching feedcasts, and driving around the suburbs in his parents' upcar, checking out how normal things are.
- The gang have a party at Quendy's house, since her parents are off at a "choking party" (wait, what?), and going all midlife crisis (18.9).
- This party is the first time Titus has seen Violet since the moon. He picks her up in his parents' upcar, because she lives a couple hundred miles away from his place.
- Violet asks Titus what the party will be like, so it's pretty clear she hasn't been to too many. Also, she and most of her friends are homeschooled, while Titus goes to SchoolTM.
- Titus assures her that the party will be like parties on the feed, but only a bit dumber.
- Violet is super excited, but then wonders if things will be different. Titus doesn't really understand this at first, Violet notes that such a big event (the hacking) has to change them all in some way.
