- At the archery range, Katsa calms herself by shooting arrow after arrow into practice dummies, all the while wondering about her character. She feels savage and worries that she is.
- Partway through her target-therapy, she realizes the Lienid is watching her.
- They get to talking about his Grace versus her Grace (sounds like Katsa would win in just about every situation), and then the Lienid begins to press for answers about his kidnapped grandfather, Prince Tealiff.
- Katsa starts to leave, but the Lienid blocks her, and eventually they come to blows—friendly blows, though. Katsa actually enjoys fighting this guy. He's the first real challenge she's had in a long time, and they both wind up laughing as they grapple.
- Prince GG agrees to surrender on one condition: Katsa must tell him what's happened to his grandfather.
- Katsa, finally convinced that she can trust him, agrees to take him to his grandfather, and Prince Greening tells her she can call him Al. Okay, not Al. Po. That's the name he goes by.
