Character Analysis
Charles's the bully and snitch at Cesar Chavez High School. (Every high school has at least one.) And because of this, he's the antagonist to Marcus' protagonist. We don't like him, even with what we learn about his and Marcus' history. There honestly doesn't seem to be anything about this guy that makes him sympathetic.
But even though he's a total jerkbag, he's important to the plot of Little Brother because he almost catches Marcus skipping school at the book's start…and then tries to capture Marcus after the VampMob. He's just another kind of surveillance that Marcus is up against…even before the DHS enters the story.
