Mr. Charles Proctor Dawn
- The Op heads to Charles Dawn's office, but when he gets to the first floor of the building, he finds a dead body.
- It's Mr. Dawn. Yet another murder.
- The Op searches through his pockets and takes a black book and some papers. In his hotel room, the Op goes through the book and finds one interesting name with an address: Helen Albury, 1229A Hurricane Street.
- The Op remembers that there was a Robert Albury was in jail for killing Donald Willsson, and the address is right across the street from Dinah's house.
- Looking through the papers, the Op finds that there are four love letters addressed to Dinah signed by none other than... Elihu Willsson.
- The Op then goes to the address to find Helen. When he knocks on the door, he proceeds to question the young girl.
- He claims that Helen is Robert's sister and that after Robert was arrested, Helen rented the apartment across from Dinah to get revenge. Dawn engineered the plan because he wanted to get Elihu Willsson's letters.
- The girl doesn't say a word and the Op orders Dick Foley to watch her.
- Later, Dick says that Helen had got straight to Dawn's office to find the police there. The police were now questioning her.
