That's Why I Sewed You Up
- The Op sees a neon sign that reads Hotel Crawford and books a room for the night. Gotta get some shut-eye.
- The next morning, he goes to cash Elihu's check at the First National Bank. The Op finds Albury and asks him why he had killed Donald.
- Albury of course denies it. He's no dupe.
- The Op tells Mr. Dritton, the head cashier, to take Albury to a private room where he can be questioned.
- And then the Op lets him have it: he claims that Albury was in love with Dinah and thought he had lost her to Donald because he had run out of money. Albury was the only one who could have known about the $5000 check and phoned Mrs. Willsson and Thaler. Donald was also killed with a .32, the same caliber as guns used at the bank.
- Finally, Albury confesses that he was the murderer and that the gun is in one of the teller's cages. There. Was that so hard?
- The Op takes Albury to the police department, and then goes to tell Elihu the skinny.
- Elihu tries to "un-hire" the Op. Now that his son's murderer has been found, Elihu wants the Op to stop investigating the crimes surrounding the city.
- But the Op says that he's going to use the $10,000 to clean up Personville and that means getting rid of all the criminals. Man's on a mission.
