How It All Goes Down
- So now the two have the most destructive weapons in the universe, so that's a plus.
- They turn one on, and it works. So that's a double plus.
- Alec tells Mark that it works a lot like a Flat Trans. See, a Flat Trans breaks things down into little molecules, and then it reconstructs them again. But a Transvice only does half the job—it just breaks them down into molecules, then it splits them into tiny pieces.
- Also, they're super durable. You could drop it pretty hard and it won't break.
- They decide to go outside to test one so that they know if it works or not. As they look for a squirrel or anything to dissolve, a man suddenly rushes out of a nearby house.
- He's running straight for them and yelling at the top of his lungs. Dude. Is. Cray.
- You know what's going to happen next: Alec shoots the Transvice at him—a white bolt shoots out of the weapon and hits the guy in the chest.
- Then, his body turns into a gray-looking cloth cutout, and it explodes into mist.
- "I guess it works," says Alec (49.41).
