How It All Goes Down
- No one says a word to Alec about the Toad, and the next morning Lana talks about how she thinks there's something wrong with the virus.
- As in, she thinks the people who made it messed up. It killed a lot of people quickly, but it was taking longer on other people.
- This, of course, triggers the response: hmm, maybe they all have it.
- Apparently the victims who first caught it were dead very soon, but as more people were infected, it started taking longer.
- Oh well, time to keep moving. The group eventually reaches another settlement in the middle of the afternoon, and they decide to check it out.
- When they approach the village, they get the same whiff of death that Alec and Mark got earlier.
- Just then, a little girl from the direction of the smell walks toward them. She's about 5 to 6 years old.
- She tells everyone that the people in her village ran away into the forest.
