A Small War
- On Monday morning, an officer from CFS stops by to talk about Bobby's truancy. She needs to see Bobby as well, since no one has seen him in three weeks.
- Bobby's mom tells her that they sent Bobby to Florida to stay with a relative, since he didn't seem to be getting over his flu.
- They thought that the warm weather would be good for him, and will be withdrawing him from school for the rest of the semester. That's some quick thinking.
- After the woman leaves, Bobby thinks it's funny, but his mom is seriously concerned—she doesn't think that the local authorities are just going to back down.
- His mom runs to call her aunt in order to get her to say that Bobby's been at her place since March 13th, and she even tells her aunt about Bobby's "situation."
- Oddly enough, Aunt Ethel is the one person who isn't that freaked out about hearing that her great-nephew is invisible. She just finds it curious.
- Forty-five minutes later, the social worker comes back with a warrant to search their house.
