The Contract
- Danglars throws a party to celebrate his daughter's marriage to the wealthy Andrea Cavalcanti.
- The Count tells everyone that a letter written by Caderousse to Danglars has been discovered in Caderousse's vest and has been given to Villefort. The Count doesn't reveal what the letter says.
- Police show up at Danglars's house looking for Andrea Cavalcanti, but he has disappeared.
