- The girls dance joyfully that night. The next day is Sunday, and after church, they go to the graveyard—it's not much of an outing, but at least the girls get to be outside for a change.
- That night they have guests for dinner: Fairweller and Lord Bradford. Bramble writes threatening notes to Lord Bradford on her handkerchief and has Azalea pass them over (she's still mad about him stopping the tower clock). The rest of the conversation is boring—Fairweller is trying to convince Lord Bradford to run for Parliament, blah blah blah.
- Azalea is embarrassed at her sisters' behavior, since they all take turns bothering Lord Bradford, but she still goes to bid him good night.
- They have a nice conversation, and Lord Bradford says he'd thought she was her sister (which apparently happens a lot, since Azalea and Bramble have similar-colored hair and are so close in age). And then he says goodnight, Princess Bramble. Um, oops.
