Now
- Shorty thinks he sees a sliver of light from above. He hopes he's right, but he's not sure.
- He thinks his hand is broken because his fingers are limp and weird feeling.
- Then he remembers back to seeing Marguerite. Guns start going off, and Shorty isn't sure who is shooting.
- He jumps on top of his sister to protect her, and gets shot in the arm.
- When he looks up, he hears Stephanie's voice. She is standing over his body, in front of the guns, telling them not to shoot.
- No one is armed here. Put the weapons down.
- Luckily, since she's with the U.N. and threatens to report the men, they actually listen to her.
- Biggie's been shot so many times that Shorty finally believes his mom about being able to see through a body (like when Dread died).
- Shorty picks himself up just in time for Marguerite to tell him she doesn't know who he is.
- She also tells him to get off of her. She's acting like they are strangers.
- Stephanie grabs Shorty and instructs the men to take him to the hospital.
- Walking past Biggie, Shorty hears the guy cough and utter a few last words.
- First he says some mushy stuff to Stephanie that Shorty doesn't fill us in on, and then he apologizes to Shorty for shooting his dad.
- Wait, what? Everything from that day flashes before Shorty's eyes.
- Suddenly it all makes sense. His dad wasn't mad that the twins were performing or tricking people; he was ticked off that they were working for Dread since he was against the guy.
- Dread ordered Biggie and posse to take Shorty's dad down since had no respect for Aristide.
- Biggie didn't know Shorty back then, and he was just following orders. He's really sorry.
- Shorty thinks back to when Biggie showed some rival kid mercy by shooting him in the foot instead of killing him.
- Shorty remembers overhearing Biggie acting like a mamma's boy on the phone. He thinks that Biggie was rough on the outside, but really soft on the inside.
