- Jonah and Taylor hit the road in Santangelo's car in search of Tate and Hannah. Taylor finds herself oddly calm in spite of the fact that she's about to return to her past and has no idea what she might find there.
- She eventually falls asleep. When she wakes up, Jonah informs her that they have traveled past Yass, beyond the town where the Brigadier found them three years before.
- Their original plan when they arrive in Sydney, where Taylor spent the bulk of her early years, is to revisit places she remembers in hopes of finding someone who knows her.
- Here's the problem with that: The area where she lived has been so heavily renovated that nothing looks the same. They argue about whether or not this was a good idea and whether Jonah has the right to judge Tate should they locate her.
- After getting something to eat, they continue their search with no luck—Taylor's old neighborhood hasn't just been redeveloped, it's been totally cleaned up.
- Taylor remembers a kid named Simon who lived in her building, so she and Jonah decide to go in search of him. They go to a teen hangout and ask the guy at the register to let Simon know Taylor is looking for him should he come in. She tells him they will be at the McDonalds across the street at 6:30PM.
- The story then cuts to Hannah's book. A year after Webb's death, Jude returns to Jellicoe in fulfillment of a promise he made to Narnie, haunted by memories of the five on his drive into town.
- When he sees Narnie after he arrives, he makes her promise him that she won't go looking for Tate—Tate is a different person now after the loss of Webb and has a baby to care for.
- In response, Narnie asks him to promise that someday they'll bring Tate and her baby back to Jellicoe.
- Narnie and Jude go back to Narnie's room and have sex.
- When they're finished, she tells him that while she spent the years after the accident wanting to be dead, she now wants to be alive when she has had so much loss.
