Tuesday—Four to Eight
- Vera is distracted when she comes into work. After all, she still hasn't found whatever Charlie left for her, and she needs it in order to clear his name.
- Finally it hits her: He hid something for her in the tree, not the tree house. She tells Marie that she has to go and drives straight to the Master Oak.
- She climbs the tree and roots around in the hollow until she finds the box that he left her. Once she has it, she feels sad for the first time since Charlie died. Vera starts to cry.
- Back in the car, Vera drives to the parking lot of the pizza place and pulls out the box. Inside are a bunch of notes written on napkins.
- She starts to read, and the first note says that after she reads this, she'll probably hate Charlie.
- Before she can go on, James knocks on her window and tells her that he wanted to talk to her to say that he wishes that he'd beaten up Mick the night of the Christmas party. Vera says it's okay and that there are no hard feelings, but that they can't hang out anymore.
- She turns back to the note, which says that Charlie had intended to ask her to be his girlfriend on Valentine's Day when he sent her the flowers. But then everything went wrong.
- She has to keep working, but she's distracted the whole time because the thousand dead Charlies are all around her. Then Larry, her coworker, says, "Please don't hate me."
