- Saavik and David teleport to the Genesis planet. They find Spock's burial tube where the microbes on it have evolved into super slugs.
- David opens the tube to find Spock's body missing, leaving only his burial robe behind Shroud of Turin style. Spock is definitely being portrayed as a Space-Christ figure here.
- The planet shakes, and crying is heard in the distance. They go to investigate.
