Chapter 201: May 20
- She's studying a ton, which is good because it at least keeps her mind off everything else that she doesn't want to think about.
Chapter 202: May 21
- Now Gran is sick. Alice's family is hoping it's just her way of letting down after all the stress of Gramps's death, though.
- Her dad got her permission to use the university library, and she loves it because it makes her feel sophisticated.
Chapter 203: May 22
- At the library, Alice meets Joel Reems, a cutie-patootie freshman who takes an interest in her.
Chapter 204: May 23
- Her dad really liked Joel when they met yesterday, so he looks up his academic record. Turns out he's a regular Good Will Hunting—he's an accelerated student with a dead dad and a working-class mother, so he pulls shifts as a janitor at night to pay for his schooling.
Chapter 205: Evening
- Joel walks Alice to her dad's office again, and it's like a little date.
Chapter 206: May 25
- Alice's dad is playing matchmaker and invites Joel over for dinner.
Chapter 207: May 26
- Alice is psyched for her dinner date. She's going to make her specialty: the orange yeast rolls.
Chapter 208: Later
- The date went really well, if you don't take the fact that Joel spent most of the evening chatting with her dad a bad sign. Which Alice doesn't: She chalks it up to him missing a father figure in his life.
Chapter 209: May 29
- Alice's dad is excited because he's trying to finagle a scholarship for Joel.
- Things are going well at school—well as in no one is talking to her but no one is harassing her either.
Chapter 210: June 1
- Gran is upset because her house sold and the movers put all of her stuff into storage, making Gramps's death much more real.
