Chapter 61: August 16
- Everyone is pretty worried about Alice, including herself. She still has another two weeks before she'll know whether she's pregnant or not, though.
- In the mean time, Alice is feeling pretty remorseful about all of her bad choices.
Chapter 62: August 17
- Alice has run out of her stolen sleeping pills and now she's a wreck.
- Her mom—who doesn't know what's up—senses something's amiss and wants to take her to see their family doctor.
Chapter 63: August 18
- Alice convinced the doctor to give her sleeping pills, though she admits (to her diary, that is) that the pills are less for sleeping and more for an escape.
Chapter 64: August 20
- Alice thinks the sleeping pills the doc gave her aren't as strong as the ones she stole from her grandfather—she has to take two or three in order for them to work.
Chapter 65: August 22
- Now Alice is going back to the doctor to ask for tranquilizers, because taking sleeping pills all day just isn't working for her.
Chapter 66: August 23
- Wahoo, tranquilizers are the best because they numb Alice just enough to function.
- She writes a letter to Roger "baring her whole soul"—but leaving out acid, speed, Bill, and the fact that she's worried she could be pregnant… which leaves us wondering what she did write about.
- She wishes she could turn Roger onto acid so he'd understand her better.
Chapter 67: August 26
- She got her period. Yay. Now she can stop drugging herself to oblivion and be herself again.
Chapter 68: September 6
- Beth is back from camp but now she has a boyfriend and Alice is pretty disgruntled about it.
- Alice is blossoming into a hippie—she's ironed her hair straight and bought a fringe vest. Needless to say, her parents are a wee bit worried.
Chapter 69: September 7
- Alice's parents tried to have a talk with her about her attitude and their concern about how she's changed since she stayed with her Gran. It doesn't go well.
- She just wishes they'd listen. She feels very alone.
Chapter 70: September 9
- Roger got into the military academy and Alice is really unhappy about him being so far away.
