- Because Whitney was the one with the most promise as a model (and the one who loved it the most), she moved to NYC after high school to live with Kristen and try her luck in the modeling world.
- After a few months, Kristen started calling home to say that Whitney was losing weight and didn't seem to be eating. When they came home for Thanksgiving Whitney definitely looked different, but their mother refused to believe that something was actually terribly wrong.
- Kristen and Whitney went back to NYC, but a week before Christmas, they received a phone call that Whitney was in the hospital because she fainted. When Whitney finally flew home for Christmas, she looked even more emaciated and there was definitely something wrong.
- Whitney didn't eat for days—until her parents forced her to—and she got into arguments with their father about eating meals.
- Then one night Annabel found Whitney passed out in the bathroom with blood in the toilet from throwing up. She called her parents and they rushed Whitney to the hospital.
- Later she found out that her parents put Whitney into treatment. When Kristen got home, she dropped another bombshell—she was going to quit modeling and go to school again. And in the midst of all this, Whitney refused to talk to Kristen (because she ratted her out).
