- On the bus ride home, Bailey thinks Shaun got lucky because Reed only hit him once. Kiriel's not so sure, though, on account of how it still hurts a lot.
- He thinks about why he said that stuff to Reed and decides he just wants people to suffer less, that he was just trying to help in the long run.
- Reed didn't care, though, and now Shaun's the one with the bruised lip and ego on the ride home.
- Bailey gets off the bus and asks Shaun if he's still coming over. Kiriel wants to, but he wants to invite Jason first, so he'll be over soon.
- He runs home and enjoys the fresh air on his face.
- When he gets there, Kiriel finds cookies. Oh yeah, that was on his list for today. He grabs one and invites Jason over to Bailey's to play video games.
- Jason's a little confused. Why would his bro invite him? They never hang out.
- He suspects it might be a trick, so he asks Shaun why his lip is bruised; Kiriel explains that he insulted Reed's package and that set him off.
- Jason cracks up. He can't imagine someone telling Reed that, let alone his brother.
- Shaun heads to his room, and a little while later, Jason comes in reporting he will go to Bailey's with him.
- Once they get to Bailey's, Jason is still on edge. He clearly thinks his brother is going to prank him somehow, but he's too interested in the game to refuse the invite.
- They play for a little while before Kiriel realizes that he's not that into video games; he tells the guys to keep playing while he looks at Bailey's manga collection.
- He checks out Bailey's photos and notices one of Bailey and Shaun. They look happy together.
- Suddenly, Kiriel feels guilty for taking Shaun's body—he doesn't have memories connected to that photo or know what it's like to be friends with someone.
- Shaun's friends would be really down in the dumps if they knew he was gone, and Kiriel is taking that away from them.
- He's not sure why he feels this way, but he knows this isn't what he signed up for.
