- At the lunch table, Kiriel asks for Bailey's ketchup, but Bailey refuses. Translation: He's still annoyed.
- Then Bailey notices Kiriel looking at Reed in line and warns him not to mess with that guy.
- It just bugs Kiriel. Reed is a bully, and he'll always be one if no one stands up to him.
- Then he remembers an old saying about catching flies with honey instead of vinegar—a.k.a. being nice gets you further in life—so he decides to be nice to Reed instead. He apologizes to him for saying mean things the day before.
- Reed doesn't answer, so Kiriel continues. He tells Reed that he shouldn't go on mistreating people because it will land him no friends. Right now, people are afraid of Reed, but if he was nicer, maybe he'd get some real friends.
- Reed tells him he's a freak and heads in the other direction. You'd think Kiriel would be upset, but he's glad Reed at least listened to him.
- Kiriel thinks about leaving his mark on the world. He likes to think of it as leaving behind a K (for his name).
