- The next morning, Kiriel is thankful to be around another day—he knows he'll be gone soon, so he wants to make the most of his time in Shaun's body.
- He says good morning to Peanut and tells the cat that he's smart for knowing the difference between Kiriel and Shaun.
- Then he heads to the kitchen for breakfast. His mom is getting her stuff ready, and she asks him to remind his brother about his meds.
- He promises he'll do it, and that he'll invite Jason over to Bailey's again.
- When he does, Jason is skeptical; he knows he's not as good as Shaun and Bailey, so they don't have to play with him.
- Kiriel tells him the truth: Jason was way better than him yesterday and even beat Bailey once, too.
- Jason agrees to go and even smiles on his way out the door.
- On the bus, Bailey asks Shaun why he's so quiet. Kiriel claims tiredness.
- In reality, though, Kiriel has a lot to think about. What's he even doing on earth? How can he leave his mark here in the short time he's got?
- He's so deep in thought that he actually asks Bailey to keep an eye on Jason if Shaun dies; he bets that will be as soon as he gets called back to hell, which could be anytime now.
- Bailey's a little freaked out, but he agrees.
- That gets Bailey thinking. He wants to be buried with his bobble head collection, and makes Shaun promise he'll see to it. Kiriel promises, even though he knows he won't be around.
- His mind wanders to Lane again. This time, he thinks about how lucky she is, getting a guy like Kiriel who knows what he's doing, instead of a real teenager.
- Then Kiriel sees a church and wonders about it. Maybe this is how the Creator talks to the humans?
- At school, Shaun's teacher asks him to stay after class for a minute. Shaun did really well on the test on The Crucible and the teacher wants to make sure he didn't cheat. Ouch.
- Kiriel talks about the book for a while, to the teacher's satisfaction. It's weird that Shaun suddenly does well on tests, but the teacher is willing to let the A grade stand… for now.
- Kiriel catches up with Lane and asks if she can meet up after school to work on geometry homework together—he doesn't actually need help, but he does need an excuse to be with her, so he uses the oldest trick in the book.
- She says she can help him, and they work out the deets. She can't go over to his house if his mom won't be there, so they arrange to meet at Bailey's since his mom is always home and it's close to her house.
- Kiriel's excited to tell Bailey the good news, but his buddy doesn't react as well as he'd hoped.
- Bailey points out that he can't just go into his room to do the deed when his mom is in the house; she's going to ask a bunch of questions and wonder what's up.
- Kiriel's a little peeved. He thought Bailey would have his back, but now he won't even help Shaun hook up with this girl.
- They leave the lunch line, annoyed with each other.
