- The next morning, Kiriel showers and then pets Peanut. He's no longer afraid of the cat, so he talks to the little beast.
- As he scratches Peanut's neck, Kiriel notices that the cat starts falling asleep. He gets why people have pets after all—they are cute and cuddly. (So cute.)
- Kiriel goes into the kitchen to get breakfast and wonders whether he could stay here his whole life—then he could figure out what it's like to grow old.
- But that doesn't really interest him, so while he likes Jason and his new family, sticking around seems kind of boring.
- He asks Jason if he wants to head to Bailey's today, and of course he does.
- On the bus, Bailey and Shaun chat about last night's History homework—it was super tough and neither of them finished it.
- Kiriel decides he'll ditch the bus after school so he can check the church out instead.
- At lunch, Kiriel notices Reed picking on a kid in a wheelchair, so he trips the guy to teach him a lesson.
- Everyone laughs and cheers. It turns out Kiriel was right that Reed has no real friends.
- Reed walks away all downtrodden, and Kiriel realizes that he should feel triumphant, but he's actually a little disappointed at himself.
- Is this what being a human does to you? It ain't pretty.
- Kiriel goes into the church and sits down in the pew; he checks out the Bible sitting in front of him.
- He opens it to a story where the Creator and the Boss face off. This makes Kiriel upset, because he knows the Creator will never face him.
- Then, he finally has the guts to speak out loud to the Creator. He's all I'm here, dude, so come talk to me if you want.
