The Sixth Sense Scene 19 Summary

  • Lynn brings Cole to the hospital. The doctor (who's played by Shyamalan, by the way) says Cole didn't have a seizure, but remarks on the bruises and cuts on Cole.
  • Lynn gets defensive and just wants answers about what happened to him today.
  • Malcolm goes to talk to Cole. He starts to tell him a bedtime story, but Cole tells him he needs to add some twists.
  • Cole suddenly wants to hear about why Malcolm is sad. Malcolm resists, but then he eventually gets into what we've already kind of figured out. His run-in with the ex-patient messed him up, and now his marriage is suffering. Malcolm says he just can't let the incident go.
  • Apparently, though, meeting Cole has given him a chance to give the "story" a happy ending. Cole wants to know the end, but there isn't one yet.
  • Cole is finally ready to tell Malcolm his secret: he sees dead people. All the time. And they don't even know they're dead.
  • He asks Malcolm to keep what he just said a secret, and to stay with him until he falls asleep.
