The Sixth Sense Scene 35 Summary

  • Cole and his mom are stuck in traffic because there's been some kind of accident a few cars ahead of them.
  • She's apologetic because she missed the play on account of having two jobs.
  • Cole says he's ready to communicate with her now.
  • That gets her attention.
  • He tells her that a lady died in the accident up ahead. He says he knows that because she's standing next to his window. Suddenly, we see a bloodied biker standing next to him.
  • He finally comes out with the full truth: he sees dead people. They want him to do things for them.
  • Lynn is obviously pretty freaked out by this intel and doesn't necessarily seem to believe him.
  • Then, he says that his grandma says "Hi" and is sorry for taking the bumblebee pin.
  • Lynn starts to get annoyed, probably thinking this is an elaborate lie to hide the fact that he's been stealing her pin.
  • But Cole reveals some intel from granny that only Lynn could know—or that he could only know through supernatural means.
  • Turns out that Lynn's mom had attended a dance recital that Lynn thought she'd skipped way back when she was a kid.
  • Plus, Cole knew what Lynn had asked her mother at her gravesite. Only way Cole could have known those things? Grandma told him.
  • Lynn cries with relief that her own mother was proud of her.
  • She finally seems to believe Cole, and they both cry and hug.
  • Breakthrough #1.
