Fear Smells
- When Flora and her dad get to Blixen Arms, where he lives, he breaks into a run.
- Not they've got a squirrel to save, though—instead he's running because the owner, Mr. Klaus, has a huge, angry orange cat… also named Mr. Klaus.
- Mr. Klaus (the cat) loves to pounce on people as they walk by and claw up their ankles; it's happened to Flora's dad before, and he's determined to make sure it doesn't happen again.
- Flora tells her dad to stop being afraid, since it's well known that animals can smell fear.
- There's no time for a lecture from Terrible Things Can Happen to You! now, though, because she's got a squirrel to save.
