How It All Goes Down
- Withel notices Rincewind has a sword and suggests they see how well he uses it. Rincewind complains that he doesn't know how, though, which is all the better for Withel.
- Withel lands a strike on the wizard, but the gold pouch takes the hit.
- The two fight until the Broken Drum suddenly explodes behind them in a volcano of oily flames.
- Rincewind takes advantage of the situation and lands a strike on Withel, but the strike is so horribly incompetent that it does no damage whatsoever.
- Withel grabs Rincewind's throat and squeezes. Rincewind wonders if this is the end, but then Withel stops.
- Twoflower holds the sword to Withel's back, wondering if he's doing it right or not.
- Rincewind hits the thief and knocks him out; he lets the roll of gold coins slide out of his stinging hand.
- With the fire spreading, the two make for the Widdershin Gate, leaving Luggage behind.
- On the way, Twoflower lets it slip that he inn-sewered the Broken Drum for a pay out of two hundred rhinu, standard assessment value.
- Rincewind turns and lets fly the foulest curse in the Trob language. Death informs him he's just doing his job before stalking off.
