How It All Goes Down
- K!sdra (pronounced exactly as it's spelt) is still trying to free his dragon, Bronze Psepha, when he sees Rincewind coming to him.
- The dragonrider leaps down to meet Rincewind in combat.
- Later, he'll remember two things: the skill of the wizard as he disarmed him, and the way the wizard held his eyes shut with his free hand.
- Rincewind holds the black blade over K!sdra's neck to ensure the dragon doesn't cook him crispy; the wizard convinces the dragonrider to take him to Wyrmberg, and alive at that.
- They board the dragon, and K!sdra offers Rincewind a candy for the altitude difference.
- And they fly. Rincewind realizes how unsettling it is to fly on a semi-transparent dragon.
- As they get closer to Wyrmberg, the dragon begins to solidify.
- They enter a cave in the mountainside, and the wizard asks his sword what to do next. Kring has a plan, and that plan is to attack.
- When they land, K!sdra wonders if Rincewind would like to die, or surrender and then die. Decisions, decisions…
- Rincewind refuses to surrender, though this has more to do with Kring's prodding than the sudden discovery of a spine.
- Lio!rt Dragonlord comes forward and challenges the "hero" to mortal combat.
- K!sdra outfits Rincewind with some hook boots, while the wizard tries to explain that he's sure his friends are happy here and he'll just be going. It doesn't work, though. Shocking, we know.
- He warns his would-be opponent that he wields a magic sword, and Lio!rt finds this prospect more than fitting, seeing as he wields a magic sword, too.
- They battle until one of Rincewind's boot-hooks slips from its ring.
