How It All Goes Down

- After her interrogation, Raisa is brought to yet another train station. Though she doesn't know where she's going, she knows it's not going to be pretty.
- Vasili approaches her. Leo is tagging behind, but he looks "frail, aged by ten years" (4.45.7). In fact, he's completely unresponsive when she tries to communicate with him.
- It seems that Vasili pulled some strings to get them on the same train. But why? Because he paid off some guys to kill them on the way to the Gulag, of course.
