Character Analysis
Sometimes called Delphi for short, this sister is twelve at the book's start and apparently has a thing for romance: "Of all of them, she read the most romantic stories and drew the fluffiest of ball gowns on her stationary" (14.33). So she's into girly things, got it. She has "light blue eyes" (16.53) and she suggests that Keeper is dashing enough to be a potential suitor for Azalea (au contraire, mon cheri.)
She's also the one to make a big deal out of how their dad must not love the girls anymore now that their mom has died. She says, "The only time he ever paid any attention to us was if Mother wanted him to. Now that Mother's gone, why would he care?" (5.81). Ouch. And she urges the rest of the girls not to act nicely to their dad: "We swore to have meals in our room forever. We can't stand eating with the King, remember?" (13.22)—though eventually she comes around to him too.
