Character Analysis
Azalea's second suitor is a scholar from the Delchastrian university, and he certainly seems like a better human being than the first guy, Mr. Hyette: "He arrived with stacks of books, inkwells, and a general good-natured air that did not mind if the girls flocked to him and teased him about his bushy muttonchops" (16.4). Azalea doesn't develop feelings for him or anything, but it's good to know that not all her suitors are selfish morons.
