- That night June risks her neck and travels back to the Lake sector to try to get help with executing Day's escape.
- She finally finds Kaede and Tess, and they're both pretty mad and suspicious of her. She realizes that Tess must have joined the Patriots.
- Kaede makes June put down her weapons, and June starts telling them about everything that she found out about the Republic and how they're killing people. She tells them that she wants to help Day escape before his execution.
- After her spiel, Kaede still demands to know what's in it for the Patriots. June hands over a bunch of money, as well as an electro-bomb that she stole from the government. They disable all the guns in a half-mile radius for two minutes.
- She finally gets Kaede to start listening to her plan, which is to help John escape first and then to help Day escape on the night of his execution. She wants the Patriots to cause a large diversion—and she wants Patriots to act as soldiers in disguise.
