Legend Chapter 6 Summary

June

  • June has never seen such a huge riot before, and she asks Thomas if the crowd of people have totally lost their minds.
  • Thomas says that the people are fools and June hopes secretly that they'll all leave before things get violent.
  • On his mouthpiece, Thomas communicates with Commander Jameson and then delivers the order to fire at will into the crowd.
  • June tries to stop this—she doesn't like the idea of shooting the people out there—and Thomas gets frustrated with her and throws her to the ground, hard.
  • She just lies there stunned, covering her ears and feeling awful. When the gunfire stops, she looks up and sees that there must be at least one hundred and twenty people dead with hundreds more in custody.
  • Thomas looks a little guilty, but June knows he doesn't feel bad about shooting the people—he just feels bad about throwing her to the ground.
