Day
- Day starts to have nightmares again about Tess and his mother dying.
- When he comes to, doctors and nurses are standing over him and trying to fix his leg. They tell him that they've fixed his leg enough so that he'll be able to stand for his execution. How thoughtful, right? Not.
- Commander Jameson enters the room and starts yelling at him—she's upset because there are apparently a bunch of protesters outside Batalla Hall.
- As he's led out of the operating room, Day can hear the reports coming in that there are indeed rioters and protesters outside of Batalla Hall. He's surprised to see that people are protesting because of him.
- He's worried that the soldiers will crack down hard on the rioters and arrest—or worse, kill—all of them.
