- D-503 heads back to the Ancient House, where all kinds of naughtiness takes place. One the way, he notices birds trying to fly over the Green Wall, only to be repulsed by electricity.
- S-4711 catches him at the entrance to the House, but doesn't turn him in. It's kind of eerie.
- He returns home and chats with his controller—an educator—who tells him that her children drew a picture of her looking like a fish. (D-503 has described her as having "brownish-pink gills," [21.1] so it's probably legit.) She has them all carted off by the Guardians.
