How It All Goes Down
- Natasha passes the same street violinist Daniel passed outside his parents' store. She too gives her a dollar...bringing her grand total to two dollars.
- She sees that the woman has a sign saying she's trying to buy the violin back from a loan shark.
- The loan shark comes out and says time's up. The violinist asks him not to sell it. He says he won't if she shows up to play it again tomorrow.
- She promises she'll be there, and he says, "Promises don't mean s**t" (252).
