How It All Goes Down
- Natasha introduces Daniel to her mom, who gives Natasha a look but smiles and shakes his hand.
- Daniel takes a look around the tiny, crowded apartment. He didn't realize Natasha's family was poor.
- He meets Peter, who's excited that Natasha brought a guy home.
- Natasha's mom says she needs to talk to her, and Natasha says if it's about Daniel, they can talk there: He's her boyfriend.
- Uh-oh. Her dad walked in just in time to hear that. He asks Natasha if she's been hanging out with Daniel all day instead of helping them pack.
- Natasha's got a rebuttal ready. She tells her dad she was trying to fix his mistakes all day.
- Yes, it's an awkward time for Daniel to be there, but he's her guest. Dad says it's his house. Natasha is incredulous. They've been cramped in this apartment for nine years and now it's suddenly "his house" (324).
- Natasha's mom tells her not to rehash all that now, and she agrees to let it go...but her dad wants to hear what she has to say to him.
