How It All Goes Down
- Daniel is devastated. He whispers that he postponed his interview for her and Natasha says that's not her fault.
- They fight over whether or not she warned him enough. She says she tried and her deportation wasn't his business when they first met. He tells her it would have been easy to just tell him the truth at any point.
- He asks incredulously if their day meant nothing to her, and she says kisses don't mean forever.
- Daniel says, "I think those kisses did" (193).
- He storms off, telling her to have a nice life and she says he's just like her father, thinking the world revolves around him and his dreams.
- They argue about dreams and whether they're worth pursuing. He says she's afraid of becoming like her father, so she opts not to dream at all.
- Daniel thinks maybe it's better to end things this way than start something long-term and realize it won't work out eventually...but he doesn't believe this.
