How It All Goes Down
- Out of respect for her mother, Natasha would have let it go—if she hadn't met Daniel, and if her father wasn't speaking in a thick Jamaican accent again like he never left.
- She tells him she heard him tell Mom their family was his greatest regret.
- He says he didn't mean it, but she's not having it. She tells him he was amazing in his play, and maybe he really shouldn't have had a family.
- Dad reiterates that it was just talk, and Natasha says it doesn't matter. He said it, and he doesn't get a do-over. This is their life.
- Natasha tells him, "You don't get to regret us" (327).
- Dad is crying, and Natasha realizes she isn't as angry as she thought.
- She tells him when they get to Jamaica, he has to actually work to make his dreams a reality. He owes that to her mom.
- Now Mom is crying, Peter's crying, and Dad is crying. They share a family hug and invite Natasha in. She hugs Daniel first.
