- They fly off, and Gansey is excited—although he is also a little nervous about being around Blue, who seems to be offended by his mere presence.
- On the ride, he and Helen have a normal sibling conversation about their mom's upcoming birthday and how Helen bought her a decorative plate.
- They head for some church ruins that Blue says they should visit. When Blue says "that's all there is," something bugs Gansey. He's heard her voice before… on the tape that he made on St. Mark's Eve.
- She asks him what the three intersecting lines in his journal mean, and he says that they represent ley lines. Then he asks her about why her voice is on his voice recorder.
- Blue admits that she saw Gansey's spirit at the church that night. She doesn't tell them about how he's supposed to die this year, though.
- As they fly over the church, they see the shape of a raven in a field. Gansey tells Helen to land, but she doesn't want to, since they might be touching down on private property.
- He wheedles her into stopping for two seconds, though, so that they can look around, and she finally agrees.
