Character Analysis
Aunt Neeve may seem like the "cool aunt" when she first appears on the scene. After all, she's a famous psychic with lots of books and television appearances, and she is more permissive with Blue than her mother is. But soon, it becomes clear that Aunt Neeve is more of the "creepy aunt" than the cool one:
"Who's there?" asked Neeve.
But it was not Neeve's voice. It was something deeper and farther away.
A nasty shiver ran up Blue's arm. (17.14-16)
Neeve is into all kinds of weird stuff, like scrying and letting herself be possessed by creepy spirits. She's also in Henrietta for secret motives and wants to perform a ritual on the ley lines herself, in order to become even more powerful. She's a force to be reckoned with, that's for sure—or not, if, you know, avoiding super powerful magic is your preference.
